Our Story

Sikh inspired candles dedicated to the light of my life, Gur Sevak Singh.

Jyoti Jot - immersed in the eternal light ✨

When it came time to put a name to this idea, I searched and researched for something that could encapsulate / express / embody / signify exactly what this brand means.

More than just candles. More than just me.

The art of Sikhi.
The love of Sevak.
The light of Ek.
All in one.

And then I came across the phrase:

ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ | Jyoṯī jot

In it’s original language, Jot comes from word Jyoti, which means light. In this context it refers to Divine light.

This term refers to the joining of an enlightened soul to their creator, and is often used when referring to death of our Sikh Gurus.

The physical death of a respected person.

The journey home for an immortal Soul.

Light merged with light.

Sevak merged with Ek.

Sevak was, is, and always will be the light of my life, heart and soul.

It is my sincerest hope, and honour to continue our dream, and be able to share his light with you all - through these candles.

May His light continue to shine eternally, for Sikhi, Seva and Sangat.

Dhan Waheguru Ji ✨♥️ Dhan Sevak 🌻💘

Our Nishaan (symbol) features:

  • A Sunflower, hand drawn by Sevak in a series of cards he gave me with a ring in our first year together. Now a symbol for Sevak, our Sunflower.

I also realised while drawing each petal, that they can also be seen as candle flames - Dhan Waheguru Ji.

  • The Sun, a supreme light in this world. A name I use for Sevak, my Sunshine. For his warmth, radiance, and Divine Light.
This Sun is drawn to match the one Sevak got tattooed on his back.

  • The Moon, a reflection of the Sun’s light. A name Sevak used for me, for no matter what phase she is in, the moon can still light up the world in the darkest of nights.

  • An Arrow, for our Archer. Our Warrior. Our Sevak. Forever connecting the Sun and Moon.

  • And Jyoti Jot written in Gurmukhi.

Our last conversation together was that morning, exploring the idea of making candles, with a Sikhi twist.

It is now my honour, with Guru Ji’s kirpa, to continue our dream.

Our candles are named after various elements of Sikhi. We aim to create visual representations of these elements in each candle with fragrances inspired by their essence and meaning to share with our Sangat.

Each of our candles are 100% vegan and handmade with love. We use variations of coconut and sustainable soy wax, with natural fragrance oils to scent the candles.

Our candles feature wooden wicks in either glass, ceramic or natural coconut candle containers, and are decorated with ethically sourced crystals, dried flowers, gold leaf, seashells, pearls or metal beads.

We use environmentally sustainable packaging that is 100% recyclable!
